Meleghy Automotive is a conglomerate that creates flexible, modern solutions for vehicle manufacturers. From the moment they start a job to when the final component is produced, Meleghy Automotive supports their customers every step of the way. As an automotive supplier, they specialize in the construction of body and chassis components. With their diverse team of 1,300 employees (and automotive experts), they are guaranteed to create products that will exceed even the highest of standards. Part of the success of Meleghy Automotive can be attributed to encouraging employees to think “outside of the box.” In addition to their standard production processes, they also regularly create unique solutions that meet the individual requirements of their partners.
To keep up with demand, Meleghy Automotive has set up various analytics projects as part of its digital technology adoption strategy. In an interview, Frank Hartmann (IT Director) explained: “Our goal is to allow our employees to work independently with the information. On the one hand, we do this by providing prepared, target group-specific analysis templates. On the other hand, we allow them to carry out individual ad hoc analyses. We are currently using various front ends, such as Amazon QuickSight, Power BI from Microsoft, and the data mining platform from Celonis for data visualization. The raw data is provided from our various, company-specific source systems (ERP, MES, OPC and many more) via new and constantly improving data lakes, which are ultimately made available to all decision-makers as a central information pool.”
Looking for a way to transfer data extracts from SAP to Amazon S3, Meleghy Automotive turned to Theobald Software. The goal was to make these data extracts available to address different needs across the company, such as the visualization of inventory developments and cash flows. Addressing security issues, user-friendliness and software support were also key factors in a solution.

Xtract Universal, Theobald Software’s most flexible application for SAP data integration, impressed Meleghy Automotive with its technical sophistication while still being simple to use. Hartmann told us, “The tool is easy to install, slim, and fulfills its purpose precisely without being overloaded, which is in contrast to many other solutions. And, of course, the seamless integration into SAP was crucial for us.”
To test the stability and usefulness of the tool, Meleghy Automotive took advantage of Xtract Universal’s 30-day trial. As the month drew to a close, they transitioned to a complete purchase. From there, their team took four months to set up the reporting structures.From the test phase to the launch of the production version. Utkarsh Meshram, data analyst at Meleghy Automotive, added, “The actual implementation took us just a few hours. We only needed to contact support concerning some minor details. We experienced the Theobald Software team as a competent partner that we could relate to on an equal footing. They wanted to further develop the solution together with us.” Along with transferring SAP data to AWS, Meleghy Automotive has expanded their solution to include SharePoint integration for internal employees to easily access SAP data.
